In a recent tweet, Burnaboy, the Nigerian Afrofusion superstar and Grammy Award winner, made a demand for more royalties from the British-Nigerian rapper, Santan Dave, also known as David Orobosa Omoregie. This demand follows the global success of their collaborative hit song, “Location”, which was released on March 21st, 2019.
It is no secret that Burnaboy’s contribution to “Location” was a major factor in the song’s success, as his unique lyrics and sound greatly contributed to its high replay value amongst fans. The song has since become a fan favorite and has cemented Santan Dave and Burnaboy as two of the most exciting talents in the music industry.
However, Brit Awards in a tweet wrote; ” ‘Location’, the single by @Santandave1 featuring @burnaboy, is now #BRITcertified 4x Platinum.”
Responding to the tweet, the song owner Dave tweeted; “Sitting down thinking how can a song go quadruple platinum.”
Reacting to Dave’s tweet, Burnaboy expresses his utmost joy following the success of the song and further added that Dave owes him, a Patek for giving him his biggest hit song.
Burnaboy tweeted; “Can’t believe Location is 4 x Platinum. Been on Apple Music Uk top 100 for over 4 years and is still there! Must be the First or one of the first Urban Uk Songs to Do This! You owe me a Patek lol @Santandave1 !! . Congratulations my bro This is Crazy .”
