The recent developments in the murder trial of rapper XXXTentacion have brought rapper Drake into the spotlight. According to various reports, Drake has been summoned to sit in a deposition regarding the murder of XXXTentacion.
The Grammy-winning rapper has been implicated in the killing of the late rapper, who was murdered in 2018. One of the suspects in the case has claimed that Drake was involved in the death of XXXTentacion, stemming from the conflict between the two rappers at the time of the murder.
However, it’s important to note that prosecutors have never accused Drake (real name Aubrey Graham) of being involved in XXXTentacion’s death. Instead, they’ve argued that XXX (real name Jahseh Onfroy) was killed during a robbery gone wrong outside a motorcycle store. The connection between Graham and Onfroy’s death comes from Mauricio Padilla, a defense attorney for one of the suspects, Dedrick Williams. Padilla has introduced the alleged feud between Graham and Onfroy as a potential alternative explanation for the murder.
According to a court document, Drake has been ordered to appear for a deposition on February 24th, 2023, and if he fails to do so, he will be required to appear in court on February 27th, 2023. The document states, “If deponent Aubrey Drake Graham does not appear to deposition he must appear before this court on Monday Feb. 27, 2023 at 10 a.m. EST at so [sic] the court can determine why he should not be held in contempt.”
